== Forlagets beskrivelse ==<br />
Vi skriver år 1195 og skal snart være vidne til slaget ved Alarcos, den sidste store sejr til de muslimske hærstyrker i Spanien. Mere præcist er det den 19. juli 1195 og vi følger den unge soldat Ramiro. Ramiro kæmper for sit fædreland Castilien. Desværre er han på tabernes side denne dag og er en af de mange, der tages til fange. Det er ikke unormalt at tage fanger, da de efterfølgende sælges tilbage til deres familier for løsepenge. Men Ramiro er kun en simpel fodtudse, så hvorfor har selveste sultan Yakoub pludselig besluttet sig for ikke at dræbe den unge kriger, der ganske vist er en vovehals hvis mod ikke mange kan matche? Dette er historisk fiktion på linje med Bernard Cornwell og endda illustreret af ingen ringere end [[William Vance]].<br />
