Forlagets beskrivelse
In his quest for realism and accuracy, Hergé carried our extensive research. Even as early as Cigars of the Pharaoh he seems to have been familiar with the Arab mentality. To describe the Moroccan Sahara in The Crab with the Golden Claws, he was considerably inspired by Joseph Payré's novel White Squadron, where the author describes the dress, habits and customs of desert nomads with great precision.
